Junior League of Fresno, Inc.
2008-2009 Community Issue
Thank you so much for taking the time to review the Junior League of Fresno’s 2008-2009 Community Issue. We are excited to share with you the many projects and organizations which we have had the pleasure of working with this past year.
As we look forward to 2009-2010, we are excited to be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Junior League of Fresno. A new website, a 50th Anniversary Celebration and new and exciting community projects and partners are all in the works. We have a great new Board of Directors and Leadership Team, all of whom are poised to help the Junior League of Fresno once again become a reckoning force within the Community. As our logo clearly states, we are “women building better communities.”
In Junior League Love,
Jennifer L. Johnson, President 2009-2010
Seek opportunity, not security. A boat in a harbor is safe, but in time its bottom will rot out.
You don’t have to look too hard to find opportunity to serve in our community.
As you look through our 2008-2009 Community Issue at the accomplishments of our Membership, Board of Directors, and Leadership Team you will see the pride we take in being members of this fabulous organization. You will recognize immediately our service is through a pride in our community which is genuine and heartfelt. We are a diverse group of women working hard in a community with many needs.
Our Sustaining Advisors continue to give of their time and experience. Our Community Sponsors continue to give generously. We thank you and could not be successful without you! We have big plans to see our membership grow, learn, and have fun. We are volunteers bringing a diverse background and way of thinking to the table which will only ignite the excitement and keep us growing, changing, and moving in the right direction as we approach our 50th year. I invite you to join us as we continue to fulfill our Mission and our Focus Area, “women and children in need with an emphasis on health and education.”
Thank you, the women of the Junior League of Fresno, for bestowing me with this honor and yes, opportunity.
We are every woman!
With appreciation and warmest regards,
Laurie Flambures Salvano, President 2008-2009
