Board of Directors

We are pleased to introduce the 2020-2021 Junior League of Fresno Board of Directors. This dedicated group of women meets monthly, providing governance oversight and strategic planning to the League. Members are selected through a Nominating Committee and serve in their leadership positions from June 1st through May 31st. Board members act as the League’s governing board to ensure adherence to the mission, vision, and the financial management of the League. Learn more about each member below!

  • Della J. Caver, Ed.D.

    President

    Della J. Caver joined Junior League of Fresno in 2007. She is the 62nd President of Junior League of Fresno! Her previous roles in Junior League include serving on Next to New, Senior Girl Athlete, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Spring Event, Placement, Impact Fresno, and Kids in the Kitchen committees. Della has also served in leadership roles as Senior Girl Athlete Chair, Finance Vice President, Advisory Council and President-Elect. In addition to Della’s work with the Junior League of Fresno, she also is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and currently the Far West Regional Associate Chair for Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated and a member of the Fresno Alum Chapter.  She is a board member for Cancer Excludes No One (CENO) (2008 – Present) and the Fresno Pearls and Ivy Foundation (2018- Present). Della is a graduate from California State University, Fresno and earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of LaVerne. She currently works as a 12th Grade English Teacher for the Fresno Unified School District. Della lives with her husband Ronnie and daughter Briaunna and their dog, Joy.

  • Savanna Ellison

    President-Elect

    Savanna joined Junior League of Fresno  in 2018. Prior to Fresno, she was a member of the Junior League of Monterey County (2013-2017). Her previous roles in Junior League include serving as a member of the IMPACT, Nominating & Placement, and Senior Girl Athlete committees. Savanna has also served in leadership roles as Membership Development Chair, Communications Chair,  Membership Vice President, and is now our President-Elect. Savanna received her Bachelor of Arts – Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from California State University, Northridge. She currently works as Marketing Manager for Netafim USA.

  • Tamar Lawful-Brown, PharmD, APh

    Community Vice President

    Tamar Lawful-Brown joined Junior League of Fresno in 2012, shortly after moving from New Jersey to California. Her previous roles in Junior League include serving on the Girl Power Committee, Community Impact and the Marketing/Communications committees. She has also served in a leadership role as Community Impact Chair. In addition to her work with the Junior League of Fresno, Tamar serves on the Advisory Board of Camp Kesem at Fresno State.  She was also a member of The Fresno (CA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated for three years.  She served on their Board as Parliamentarian, chaired the Bylaws Committee, and was a member of their Communications and Health & Human Services committees.

    Tamar is a 2004 graduate of the University of the Sciences – Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she earned her Doctorate degree in Pharmacy. She is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist and works at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, California. Tamar is also the owner of a life coaching business and online store, Lyfe Balance. Tamar lives in Clovis, California with her husband and kids.

  • Nicole Maul, APR

    Finance Vice President

    Nicole joined Junior League of Fresno in 2019. She served on the Senior Girl Athlete Committee during her first year with Junior League and is now the Finance Vice President.  In addition to Nicole’s work with the Junior League of Fresno, she also volunteers with the Public Relations Society of America and Patch Farms. Nicole is a graduate of Fresno State where she received her Bachelors Degree in Ag Communication. She currently works as the  Communications Director at the American Red Cross of Central California.

  • Mia Muñoz

    Membership Vice President

    Mia joined Junior League of Fresno  in 2016. Her previous roles in Junior League include serving as a member of the Community Impact and Membership Development committees.  She has also served in a leadership role as Community Vice President and is now our Membership Vice President. Mia is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree. She currently works in Marketing for Central California Faculty Medical Group.

  • Rachel Gillam

    Nominating Chair

    Rachel Gillam joined the Junior League of Fresno in 2012. Rachel is a proud resident of the Central Valley and has always been active in the community. She was introduced to Junior League by a close friend who invited her to our annual Spring fundraiser, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. With a taste for fashion, Rachel loved this event because she was able to wear a beautiful and large fancy hat she had purchased. Her previous roles in Junior League include serving as a member on the Breakfast at Tiffany’s Spring Event, Senior Girl Athlete, Community Impact, and Nominating committees. Her leadership experience with Junior League of Fresno includes serving as Breakfast at Tiffany’s Spring Event Chair. In addition to her work with Junior League, Rachel is also a member of the African American Alumni Association at Fresno State. Rachel is a graduate of  California State University, Fresno where she received her Bachelors of Science-Criminology with an emphasis in Victimology. Rachel also attended the University of Phoenix where she received a Masters Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. A significant amount of her career has been centered around at risk and foster youth within the Central Valley. Rachel currently works as Department Manager for the Internal Revenue Service.

  • Kylie Nesgis

    Secretary

    Kylie joined Junior League of Fresno  in 2014 to give back to the community and to Junior League. As a Hoover High School senior, Kylie was a recipient of Junior League of Fresno’s Senior Girl Athlete Award. Her previous roles in Junior League include serving as Fund Development Chair and  two years as Senior Girl Athlete Chair. Kylie received her Bachelors of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy at California State University, Fresno. She is also a recent graduate of Regis University in Denver, Colorado where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  Kylie works as a Nurse Technician at Valley Children’s Hospital and will be taking her NCLEX-RN soon. Kylie enjoys being with her family, adventuring outdoors, summer days on the lake and spending time with her Shihtzu, Harley.
