Community Needs Forum 2015

We are the source communities turn to when they have a problem to solve.

In January 2015, JLF hosted a public Community Needs Forum to educate our membership and the public about the most pressing needs for women and children in our community. The Community Needs Forum helped JLF membership narrow our focus and to develop a clearer vision of the issues in our community. We continued to further research more specific issues (literacy, mentoring, teen pregnancy, youth aging out of foster care, and developing the potential of women) as part of our participation in the Issue-Based Community Impact training that we received through AJLI.

Ultimately, selecting the small and overlooked population of youth aging out of foster care based on member interest and the potential for impact in many of the issue areas that were discussed at the Community Needs Forum.
